Update on the trial installation of a Portaloo, Gower Road

During the first two weeks, the unit experienced frequent water shortages and was unable to accommodate peak usage times, rendering it unusable and having to be closed.  Council, therefore, made the decision at the public meeting on 14th April that the Portaloo was not fit for purpose due to the limited capacity of the water reservoir in relation to the number of users.

Despite the original plan to trial the unit for a three-month period, it was agreed that the unit would be removed at the end of April.

It was further acknowledged that all feasible alternatives had been considered over the past 18 months with no alternative workable solution following Conwy County Borough Council's decision to discontinue funding for public toilets across the county due to budget constraints.
